Magnum Nicolas 2022 - Lafage 150cl

The 2021 Nicolas de Lafage presents a brilliant ruby ​​color, offering remarkable aromatic intensity, with a high concentration of red fruits. On the palate, it reveals itself to be round and concentrated, with silky tannins and notes of blackberry, blackcurrant, raspberry, and blueberry, all extended by a beautiful length.

This cuvée, from the IGP Côtes Catalanes, is made from 100% Grenache from old vines averaging 65 years old, with a yield of 19 hl/ha. The terroir is located in the Aspres and the Upper Agly Valley, on schist-marble soils, facing due south.

The 2021 Nicolas pairs perfectly with dishes such as beef tartare, leg of lamb, or pot-au-feu. Its vinification includes rigorous plot selection, green harvesting, and hand-picking of the grapes at peak ripeness, followed by aging 20% ​​of the cuvée in Burgundy barrels for 10 months.
