Clos Du Roy 2020 - 75cl

Le Clos du Roy 2020 is a red wine from the Fronsac appellation, produced by Philippe Hermouet, who took over the family estate in 1987. With a 22-hectare vineyard located on clay-limestone hills in Saillans, this wine is the result of a sustainable and modern approach.

The 2020 Clos du Roy is composed primarily of Merlot, with portions of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. The vines, averaging 30 years old, benefit from ideal exposure that allows them to express all the richness and complexity of the Fronsac terroirs.

In the cellar, the carefully selected and destemmed grapes are fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats. The wine then undergoes malolactic fermentation before being aged in French oak barrels, a third of which are new, for at least 12 months.

The 2020 Clos du Roy is renowned for its richness, complexity, and aging potential. It represents a fine example of the Fronsac AOC and offers a balanced taste with aromas of ripe red fruits and spicy notes, making it suitable for a variety of dishes such as white meat, soft cheeses, and game.
